One more thing crossed my mind. I've read somewhere that in fact, the actual position of the sensor may be slightly off what you assume it to be. Same goes for centering of the focusing screen. Although this is rather paranoid, but perhaps the AF sensors are positioned slightly off, so to say.
Anyway, you either spend time testing and then worrying or you go on shooting. Or your results come out badly and you are forced to spend time testing so that the service person is worrying, and not you. Just my cents.
