Jaume, I think that camera becomes obsolete either when it breaks down or its performance deteriorates or if a new camera supersedes it in a dramatically significant fashion. For me - I am waiting to see if all this hype about 22 a/d and consequently enhanced dynamic range is indeed real. As such my *istD perfectly suits all my needs. Somehow I am sure that as long as your *istDS will be shooting straight - it will not expire.
