Well I've been lurking here for a few weeks while waiting impatiently for my K10D to arive. It did, right in the time-range that Amazon promised. It's my first DSLR -- up to about twenty years ago I shot with a Nikon F and a Linhof 45s (the least expensive Linhof ever made, but still a Linhof). Then I decided all my work was crap and sold everything except my negatives. But looking back, what I really had started to hate was darkroom work.
A couple of years ago the bug bit me again and I bought a Canon S60 P&S. I have been researching and studying DSLRs ever since, and, to make a long story short, all previous cameras had something wrong with them--too expensive, too few pixels, not ergonomic enough, etc., etc. But I was unable to resist the allure of the K10D. I received it Teusday evening; so far, it's everything I expected, and more. With the comments I had read about the 'large size', I was surprised to find it smaller than the Nikon F, although I am going on memory here rather than direct comparison. So, I think I need to go shoot something.
