Paul,
I did catch the cut-out for the contacts cover.  It probably will be
safe there but the sliding door on the D was a better solution.  I am
not at all disappointed with the new camera but the smaller D is a
little more comfortable in my small hands.

I'm still in the "paging through the menus" stage.  It is also night
here so the real fun will have to wait until tomorrow.  I was very
impressed with the SR.  Took a 1/3 second exposure and was shocked to
see no evidence of camera motion.  I am no where close to having your
"steady" abilities so SR is really going to help.   I think I will
overcome my aversion to the size of the K10D very quickly!
