Just attached mine a minute ago, and yep, there's a slot on the grip to store the body contacts cover. Also, I knew the battery compartment holds a spare SD card but I'd forgotten it also stores the IR remote. How clever.
It's a nice grip. It's big, but again, for folks with bigger hands it feels MUCH better than the camera alone. This is especially true with the AF-540FGZ flash in the hot shoe.
