No, there is no secret. Just select type DVD-ROM (ISO or UDF), drop the folders and burn. I am not familiar with PowerDVD, it seems to be a audio/video DVD orientated software. So make sure it supports data DVD burning. Another thing is make sure you have not checked "Test" or "Simulation" mode - otherwise, it would just be a test burn with nothing actually burned onto the disc. I, myself, usually use Nero Burning ROM or ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/). Nero has a nicer file selection screen; while ImgBurn has a better burning engine and it is free. You can build and burn data DVD in its latest version. So if PowerDVD does not get you anywhere, give ImgBurn a try. For DVD archiving, please use high quality DVD discs and use multiple copies. DVD may not last very long (especially cheaper brands).
