I don't normally keep much equipment that I'm not using. Unused equipment sitting on a shelf is money tied up unproductively. Newer lens designs are usually better performers, with some exceptions. I hold onto older lenses when I need them and cannot find a better performer in a new lens, and I accept whatever constraints on operation that might imply if their advantage in use is worth it to me. That's because I'm a rational user of camera equipment, not some hysterical idiot who can't get what he wants and acts like a spoiled, retarded child.
