Not at all, I agree that 16 bit RGB files can make a difference, all my edits are executed and saved in 16 bit format. The problem here is that we are talking apples and oranges. A 12 bit (per pixel) RAW file can be de-mosaiced to produce a 16 bit (per colour channel per pixel ie 48 bits/pixel) RGB file.
