I like this thread. :-D The first camera I was able to call my own was a little purple and green Vivitar "Point and Shoot" 110 camera. I can't find a more specific model number or anything else on it. It's a cute little thing my mom gave me when I was in fifth grade (1988-89, I think) and went on a one week trip to Washington D.C. with my class. It even came with a matching purple and green vinyl case. There's a disposable GE Flash Flip II in the case as well, with three flashes left on it. Once I learn more about reloading 110 cartridges, I might just have to take this little guy out, for old time's sake.
My first "serious" camera was an Olympus C-3030 3mp digital camera, purchased in 2000, I think. I got it for my first photography class, because I thought its manual functions would be enough for me to learn on. It was a good camera for its time, but I learned almost nothing that quarter. Digital made it too easy. For my second photography class later that school year, I researched and bought a Pentax ZX-30, coincidentally from the camera store I would end up working for after I graduated college in 2002. The rest is history. :-D John Celio (I still have a bit of a soft spot for Olympus) -- http://www.neovenator.com AIM: Neopifex "Hey, I'm an artist.
