The first one I remember actually owning was a little 120 or 220 roll film camera that was basically a modernized Brownie. It was a top-view rangefinder with no settings made out of bakelite (or something similar). I don't clearly remember what happened to that one. Shot a few rolls of film, but my interest in photography sort of petered out for a couple of years.
A few years later, I found a really cheap thing we'd call a 35mm P&S these days at a general store way out in the country. It had two or three aperture settings and four or five shutter speeds and had a hot shoe. I never used flash with it, and after a few dozen rolls of film I was fed up with its limitations. After that, I got a K-1000 and a 50/2.0 (an M?) lens. Eventually added a 70-200/4.5-5.6 consumer zoom lens and a cheap flash. I shot a lot of film, mostly TriX with some PlusX and a little color. That kit was stolen, and replaced a year or two later with another K-1000 and consumer zooms of 35-70 and 70-200 ranges and a cheap flash. Then I lost interest again for a while. When I finally got back into photography back in '98, I was in a lot better shape financially, and I've since been able to indulge my "equipment lust" much more than before. :-) -- Thanks, DougF (KG4LMZ) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
