False, mechanical can be more reliable Than electronic in some sitations. It all depends on Good engineering. Bad engineering is what causes Problems, not necessarily whether its Mechanical or electronic.
One company I worked for is selling lots of products Designed before WWII today because they are Electromechanical ( mechanical moving parts ) And are MORE long term reliable than the electronic Versions that TRIED to replace them. This Is especially true under harsh environmental Condtions. jco -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of William Robb Sent: Tuesday, October 10, 2006 11:52 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: The JCO survey ----- Original Message ----- From: "Christian" Subject: Re: The JCO survey > It IS moving to the future. I bet the why and wherefores has a lot to do with making cameras more electronic and less mechanical as a design philosophy. Its the moving parts that cause problems.
