Thanks Bob, but considering how often I've taken just this shot, I sort of agree with Shel. The moon is the moon is the moon, and I've shot it enough times to know what it looks like, regardless of the fact that it was at its perigee when I shot it the other night. I'm not actually sure why I posted that pic here, aside from it being a very current event. What I really want to do is get a 2x teleconverter behind my 500mm and see how much detail I can get. This will sound silly, but I've always dreamt of seeing one of the Apollo landing sites. Yes, I do realize I'd probably need a very powerful telescope to see them. Speaking of teleconverters, does anyone know what, exactly, the advantage would be in using the longer telecons (the ones made for telephoto lenses only) instead of the more compact ones (made for use with any lens)?
