On a DSLR it's an excellent portrait lens. I's still VERY much cheaper than a 1.8 77mm or a A* or FA 1.4 85mm. The affordable Pentax DSLR's made this standard AF lens very attractive for portrait work, I believe. I didn't have one in my PZ-1 - MZ-S days ... :-)

I sort of want one, but have found that they tend to be rather expensive - although I think someone said recently here that they are cheap. I mean, the list price for a new one isn't really that high, but it seems like used items tend to go for almost the same amount on that-place-whose-name-ends-with-ay. Why is that? Is it because of the rumour that this lens has been discontinued? Or maybe it *has* been discontinued (well, I'm sure that's something that has been discussed earlier), but it's still on my local distributor's price list, and B&H claim to have it in stock... - Toralf -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net -- No virus found in this incoming message.
