This as a very good question, Aaron.
I'd like to know too. So I did a test. The Clock Test.

I believe it shows, that the buffer of the DL may be smaller, but the write
speed is faster.

The test shows 6 shots done with the D and the next 6 is done with the DL.
The D has a 5 shot burst and after that there's 6-7 secs between the
following RAW shots.
The DL has a 3 shot burst and after that there's only 4 secs between the
followeing RAW shots.

I was thinking the same thing.

Jens, I'm very curious to hear how you find the DL stacks up to the D
-- I've been considering the DL2 as a backup for something, but if it
doesn't outperform the D in terms of buffer, I'm sure it would irritate
the heck out of me.
