Frustrations will still be there, Aaron.
However, for some situations, the faster write speed of the DL might come in
handy. For instance when I'm doing my 360 degree panoramas. With "only" 4
secs between the shots, I'm more likely to succeed, when ever theres moving
subjects (people) involved.
What I would love to have is 2,5 FPS for as long as there's space on my card
;-)

This evening it's midsummer here. There will be thousinds of people,
hundreds of fires on the beach all over our small country. People will sing,
there'll be bands playing and politicians will make beautiful speaches and
everybody will be appriciating anything of beauty and value to man kind.

So' I'm off to the beach to make some nice 360 degree panoramas of the
sceneries.
I'll bring some wide angles, a tripod with leveling base and a Kaidan Kiwi L
head.
And money for beer!

Yes -- I have experience with the D and the DS2. I was hoping that Jens,
who has expressed serious frustration with the buffering speed of the D,
could give an impression of whether the DL is any better than his D.

Or anyone else who's used both.

I have a DS and a D, the DS2 is identical to the DS(with the 2.0
firmware revision), except for the size of the rear display screen. The
DS is much faster shooting RAW than the D is. I do find the difference
in controls very annoying. I generally prefer the two wheels on the D,
and it over all gives a more solid impression in the hand, but the
placement of the wheel on the rear Ds is much better. I have yet to
fill the buffer on the Ds when doing what I would consider deliberate
shooting, with at most one or two exposures a second for a series of
three or four shots. The D will choke occasionally when shooting the
same way. The DL has a smaller buffer than the D IIRC.

When you're worried or in doubt,
