But it will be all over the web. I would guess that 70% of camera sales
are now through internet sources.

Price is important, but it isn't everything. It'll have to get into
the stores and that's where Pentax has a problem.

Sounds good. That's pretty much in keeping with what we've heard in
regard to features. If he's right on the price, it will be an instant
winner.

I have been very much out of the loop here on the list, so if this

I was talking with my Pentax rep a few minutes ago and got some
reliable info
on the new 10mp dSLR body:
1. It'll be called the K10D, with a consumer version (K1000D)
coming out next
fiscal year. Personally, I'm glad they dropped the "*ist" thing.
2. It'll only take SD cards.
3. Most of the features advanced and pro photographers use will be
accessible
via buttons and such on the outside of the body. He didn't say
which features,
though.
4. It's about 10-15% larger than the *istD.
5. It's got Shake Reduction.
6. He thinks it'll retail for around a grand with the 18-55mm lens,
but he's
been off on prices before.
That's all I was able to get out of him this time. Suffice to say,
I had a
hard time not peeing myself from excitement while we were talking.
