I'm not sure there's a market for yet another 6MP camera, let alone two of them. I'm expecting a 10MP+SR (the K10D), and a cheaper non-SR body (the K1000D?) using the same 10MP sensor, but without some of the higher-cost bells and whistles.

----------

A few weeks ago the Pentax dealer in Moscow inadvertently displayed a 6 MP model with SR. People there even took pictures with it.

I think Pentax Japan handed the Moscow company their heads on a platter. The camera was only on display for a day, IIRC, then it was gone. But it's real.

It makes sense:

A top 10 MP with SR
A mid-range 6 MP with SR
A low-end/entry 6MP without SR

Given the noise problems that the 10 MP model will have, I might be more interested in the mid-range one, except that the features I use will be available only deeply buried in electronic menus. So I'll probably get the 10 MP one.
