4 RAW, 5-6 JPEG. It's about 8 seconds before you can take the next shot
(shooting RAW). The D can take advantage of 40x or so CF cards.
Or at least that's what I recall from shooting the D. The DS has a
larger buffer and faster write speeds.

John, about how many exposures will fill the buffer in the D? How long
does it take to be able to make the next shot after the buffer is full?
How fast a CF card can the D take advantage of?

Try shooting the Blue Angels with a D in RAW mode, and get back to us :-)
They don't come round lap after lap - you get just the one flyby pass
for each particular formation or demonstration.
I missed shots because I filled the buffer.
