Not being a naysayer... but I've worked on a number of contracts that were cancelled and at a number of firms that were purchased, merged, or otherwise/subsequently became defunct.

A common thread throughout is that 'the powers that be' do not let on that anything is coming. It's full speed ahead - business as normal until the day an announcement is reached.

What am I saying? That I believe both positive outward signs of a company's performance or growth, and negative signs to the contrary, are not necessarially good indicators of what happens next. What matters more often than not, is what happens at the secret negotiations in corporate boardrooms, not the outward face the company presents to the public.

Although that flies in the face of what Pentax has said. Specifically, that they will be focusing less on P&S cameras and more on DSLR cameras. However, I wouldn't be suprised if Samsung builds some of the bodies. Makes no difference as far as I'm concerned.
