Hi Juan, Vivitar quality is all over the place. Different companies have made the lenses under the Vivitar name, and unless you know who made which lens, you'd only be guessing at what to expect. The Series 1 lenses have an excellent reputation, unless you have a later Series 1 lens which was made by a different company and which doesn't have the same quality optics as the originals.
There's a listing for cult lenses somewhere on the 'net, and it provides some good info. However, if you can get the lens inexpensively, go for it. I know you enjoy experimenting with different lenses, but, if you're not in the mood to underwrite the cost of the experiment, stick with a K24/3.5 or a K24/2.8. I love the 2.8 ;-)) Shel > [Original Message] > From: Juan Buhler > Does anyone know if the Vivitar 24mm/2.8 is any good? How does it > compare to, say, the K24mm/3.5?
