Hi all,
I was wondering... you lucky pentaxians that may use all the old
pentax lenses line down to the screwmount ones on the DSLRs ( I HATE
YOU!!! ;) ) how do you manage to keep your pics in focus (for those of
you that actually do it, that is ;)..???
Do the Pentax's DSLRs have interchangeable focus screens with split
screen/micro prisms (and do you have and use it?) or do you focus with
the plain one?
And, do the focus confirmation lights light up even when you're using a MF lens?
thanks,
bye,
Danilo.
P.s.: hurry up, I've only 95 gmail invitation left! ;)
I've just got my *ist D this morning and have yet to buy an AF (or even
KA) lens for it. Currently using a Formula 5 28mm f2.8 and a XR Rikenon
200mm f4, have to try the SMC-M 50mm f2 as well.
The focus screen in the D is very friendly to manual focus although it
lacks a split-prism. You also get focus confirmation from the centre AF
sensor. If you leave it in AF-S(AF on DS or DL) mode, it won't release
the shutter unless you've got focus confirmation.
I'm not aware of any split/micro prism screens for the Pentax bodies.
