Yep, sounds like you've been hit by the AL element
seperation demon! ;-)
I replaced mine with a Tamron 28-75/2.8.
Rather expensive and I'm still undecided as to
whether I really like it.
One of the "harshest" Bokehs I've seen.
Kind of a double image, not very pleasing if
the background contains a lot of fine detail.
