Since all these lenses were made before 2000, and God, (and Pentax), only know when the rear Aspheric element that causes the trouble was actually manufactured, (and they're not telling). I would be very hesitant to buy one of these lenses new in a box at this point in time since the separation seems to be a mater of time not usage. Maybe a used one if I could get
it very cheaply.  You'll never know how long it will last.
