Yes and perhaps a massive injection of money, better DSLR's, better
marketing, higher sales figures, more money, better DSLR's.................:)

I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem very likely. Firstly, Sony
executives have enough on their plate with the financial crisis they've
been facing in the last months, due to slow sales. And Sony has got a
very healthy digital camera division, why on earth should they take over
Pentax?
Shop assistants are keen on making wild speculation, mainly when they
want you to buy something, or when they want to steer you away from the
purchasing decisions you have made by yourself.
