A couple of weeks ago I found myself heading to Dallas at 7am and 34,000 feet. This ridge of the Appalachian Mountains appealed to me, so I dug out the Optio 33L and took several shots.
After lots of work to restore something like the original contrast and color in PSE2, here is what I have:

Somehow, it lacks something. Any suggestions? Should one just forget about photos from airplane windows?

Hi Rick,
I agree with others that the color looks off and maybe there's too much contrast. I fly every week.
At least on the planes I'm on, the windows are often scratched, etched or dirty. Possible condensation on the outside of the window doesn't help. Most passenger aircraft windows (guessing) are double paned with an air space inside, and the inner pane seems to be plastic (not sure about the outside). So there's generally a fair amount of distortion.
It still doesn't stop me from trying and I was happy with my last PUG sumission which I converted to grayscale and adjusted the curves on. Keep on shooting, you're bound to catch something good sooner or later.
Or go to Canon for extra plasticity. ;) No offense Boris.
Tom C.
