I have strong feelings about a person's right to privacy and I do think that Tom overstepped his bounds here. In my mind, not having permission to reveal another person's personal information is the same thing as being forbidden to do so. One may argue the semantics of the words in question, but I really don't see a difference.
One should ALWAYS get permission to post another's personal information. Regardless of anything else, I consider that to just be good manners and respectful. But that's just my old fashioned way of seeing things. Finally, we don't know what Don actually said, but we do know, according to Tom, that permission was not granted to spread the information around.
