There are several of us that have known of Don's condition for a couple of weeks now. He told me it was okay to mention it to those of us that know him, and that's what I've done, otherwise I've kept it to myself.

Only met him last year, but what a sweet, funny
and spirited guy -

Sorry to hear that.  My thoughts are with Don, and I know we all pull
for his recovery.

Even though Don didn't "give you permission" to pass on this news, I
think you made the right decision to tell the list, as so many of us
here are friends of his.
