And why not, Sir?

Lenses are on thing; film bodies another; and digital bodies yet
another.

Without question.

In the case of Pentax, the lenses run and run. Film bodies have
benefited from film improvements across the years.

The "Pentax" of which I speak is the pre-digital Pentax. I have one Pentax digital, the Optio S-4, and I don't know if/when I'll "need" to buy another! This is a marvelous camera!

Digital bodies are
(to be) obsoleted by sensor improvements across the years. My
understanding from the safe distance (bargepole) I keep from them is
that the killer is noise, not pixelage; then there is the "- I shot
12,345,678,910 today. - I beat you, I shot 12,345,678,911" syndrom.

Okay.
When I think Pentax, I think mechanical bodies and lenses.
I have plenty of each to keep me interested for more years than I have left... <g>

The rest is speculation...
