Good point. I like Delkin's 'Picture PAD' but it's still too proprietary a name. At what point does a gadget's trade name take on the generic status (Bic, Hoover) - presumably with popular use, which I doubt these devices will achieve. Photographic Digital Assistant would be nice but PDA is already known. Imaging Digital Assistant (IDA) ? Digital Photographic Assistant (DPA) ? To be honest, I don't think they will ever achieve generic name status. I will bet that storage card capacity increases to such levels within 5 years that these devices will be too close to the card itself, and too close to a full-blown laptop. Apple is trying with it's Photo iPod, and based on the audio iPod, they may well make a dent. Personally, I would not consider such a device.
