Hi all,

Got me a 200 Gb harddrive and need advice on how to partition it.
I'm running WinXP on a AMD Athlon XP 2400+, which (second hand) already has a
80 gig drive in 3 NTFS partitions.

I was thinking the new drive would mainly be for storage purposes, mostly
images but also some music files as well as some video files.

However, the XP running (or the harddrive) doesn't feel completely safe, there
are some application problems, it won't boot completely until after a few tries
etc., why I thought I'd make this new drive prepared for installing an OS to it
as well.

Also I was thinking of what would be the best set up, partitionwise, should I
decide to run Photoshop on it, or allot a PS scratch disk to it.

I'd also like to hear what your experiences are of smaller or larger partitions
in terms of maintenance or system tools, or other aspects I may overlook.

Also, what are the pro and cons of NTFS?

Btw tried to run fdisk, however to my surprise there wasn't any. I have
Partition Magic though.

Thanks,
Lasse
