Hi Lasse,

there are others more knowledgable on this issue than me, but here is
how I have set it up on one HDD (I prefer more hardrives though)

system partition
programs partition (you can combine them - I keep them separate so I
don't have to reinstall most software if the system part. goes bad,
but many software needs reinstalling anyway, so it's just for neatness
- I dislike "Program Files" directory <g>)

some data one, also with (moved by regediting) Documents (users) dirs

cache/temp partition - this keeps the cache and windows temp dirs,
also photoshop scratch disk. It keeps the thumbnail cache from the
image browsers, and similar data.

It's good (Photoshop tells you about it) to keep PS scratch disk on
different partition than the Window's paging file is.

Even better IMO is to have all data on separate drive. A third fast drive
just for scratch files could be helpful for these huge scans and
similar work.
