This is just mechanical coupling inside the lens to allow you moving focussing ring regardless of camera's AF state. And after all you can go to any shop and try DA's QSF mechanism with your Z1P today :-)
BTW - design of new lenses is very similar to AF lenses for 645. Does it mean anything? Perhaps rumoured 645D is near?
