BTW, if there's a thought that there are too many color settings and the
number could/should be reduced...

If it is wished to reduce the number of color settings I'd suggest that
all the body pane background color settings could be eliminated, either
replacing them with a single configurable body pane background setting or
using the "Other Text" background setting.

(IIRC the original problem back when Charles was instituting colors was
that the background color wasn't settable at all and defaulted to blinding
white. Or maybe it was backgrounds settable but not foregrounds, which
lead to in invisible dark-on-dark text if a dark background was selected
since foregrounds defaulted to dark as well. I've seen both problems over
the years and don't remember for sure which one pan originally suffered
from. But either way, while I /like/ lots of settings and certainly don't
object myself, I can see a case being made that there's too many color
choices ATM. And reducing them would be fine too, IMO. as long as there's
a way to set the normal text background, along with multiple customizable
foregrounds (or the reverse, multiple configurable background settings
with a single configurable foreground), so it works for both those who
prefer lighter backgrounds and those who are in blinding pain with them.
Tho by definition of workable/readable contrast such a settings policy
does eliminate some of the choices one would otherwise have for whichever
of fg/bg /is/ multi-configurable.)

For header pane scores the situation last I saw a scored post was that
only the score column was colored, not the entire line. That column's
normally pretty short, and being bigger, a non-default background is much
easier to spot than non-default text/foreground. So there the multiple
backgrounds need kept altho a single configurable foreground/text setting
would work. Alternatively, score-color the entire line instead of just
the score column, in which case backgrounds could be reduced to a single
configurable with foregrounds/text remaining multi-configurable.
