Err, actually more confusion again:
Name: developer/gcc-49
Summary: GNU Compiler Collection
Category: Development/C
State: Not installed
Name: developer/gcc-3
Summary: gcc - The GNU C compiler Description: GNU C - The GNU C
compiler 3.4.3
Category: Development/C
State: Not installed
That's incorrect:
/usr/gcc/3.4
/usr/gcc/4.8
/usr/gcc/4.9
(and
/opt/gcc/4.4.4)
are all properly installed (via pkg).
I still have to tame the biest as it appears (IPS).
Neutrally speaking it simply added too much complexity into very much yet not
all that over-complicated matters.
And its Sun-design deals with software as if things like binary backwards
compatibility never existed (and by doing so creates multitudes of extra
payloads and restrictions)..
But let's try to make the best out of it :)
Anyway, in my naive view it looks like a bug that the status of installed
packages is represented as "Not installed".
But perhaps really my error.
Perhaps the wrong publisher?
