My immediate question is: how do others manage?

I'm on the Samba, Apache lists: AFAICT, they work as usual. they have proper From: fields. That includes recent posts by addresses @Yahoo.

What's the difference?

This seems like quite a reasonable solution actually.  And they go
on, with even more detailed solutions specifically crafted to deal
with this issue.
