I discovered that I had opensolaris.org (the legacy version at openindiana.org) active/enabled.

Retried with that disabled.

No significant change, somewhat fewer lines in the resulting log, but still the same complaints about

and similar for lots of packages in various parts of the OS. About 700 or so complaints.
