I think the two things, 1) multiple input links to the same input port, and 2) a two-port Union, are kind of conflicting. If we allow both, then we could end up having this workflow: 1 source operator, 2 splits (Sp1 and Sp2) , and a union later. It is still a valid DAG but I think it is not very intuitive.
