That's just how I listed the partitions in the e-mail. On the drive the
order is:
boot
win7
/
home
This all changed with the advent of GRUB, which is a 3-stage loader,
and the 1023 cylinder requirement has now completely disappeared.
This also means that you no longer have to separate out /boot into a
separate partition.
Oh well... I've already created /boot.
I'm sure GRUB does have lots of great features, but I wish it had a mode
where it just consulted a list of locations and did what it was told,
rather than search for things to boot... a.k.a. "go looking for trouble
to get into." :-)
