OK that's 2 votes for Clonezilla, so I'll investigate that.
Thanks for the Clonezilla tip, that got me going in the right direction!
I used Clonezilla to copy the partitions I wanted, then updated
/etc/fstab to hide the partitions that were no longer there, and ran
grub2-mkconfig. That got me booted... but...
The boot process was stopping at the same point it stops when I upgrade
the kernel and forget to install the matching kmod for my Nvidia card. I
couldn't figure out why that was happening since my regular desktop was
still working correctly. Then I remembered... oh, duh... there's no
Nvidia card in the box yet. *facepalm* LOL So, I put in an OLD Nvidia
card and was able to get to the desktop.
Now I need to get the HDD installed and the partitions renamed since the
SSD now uses the UUID's that the HDD had to begin with.
Thanks again for the Clonezilla tip! I wish Clonezilla was included on
the System Rescue CD.
