Hmmmm... seems complicated... Alan suggested Unison to sync the files
between my laptop and my server... anyone has practical tips in using it?

Hi,
I suggest that you use IMAP, so the mail is left on the mailserver,
and then let the mailserver
operator backup your emails.
If that's not an option, then I'd suggest you use the program
"fetchmail" to regularely
pull down emails from it to your own server instead.

I found a good way of abstracting a share over the network. When you
mount an SMB share, it is then available in the ${HOME}/.gvfs/ folder
I did a symbolic link to the target folder which I want to have
access to, and then point f-spot to that location. I guess the same
can be done using luckybackup.

Hi All,
I'm using Thunderbird mail on my laptop and would like to have it
sync'd
with thuderbird on my server. The reason is that my server backs
itself
up several times a day, so I can be sure that my mail is also being
backed up automatically.
I use luckybackup on my server... it's easy to use and graphical.
however, it doesn't seem to be able to back over the network... For
infor, I am using U.10.04 on both my laptop and server.
Any ideas?
