Instructions to unsubscribe from this list at the end of the message

Hello, 
I've found the route command.   Before connecting to the internet, it
displays the following

Destination    Gateway    Genmask    Flags    Metric    Ref    Use
Iface
10.0.0.0          *      255.0.0.0     U        0        0      0
eth1
127.0.0.0         *      255.0.0.0     U        0        0      0
lo

After, it displays the following

Destination    Gateway    Genmask    Flags    Metric    Ref    Use
Iface
192.168.1.100     *   255.255.255.255  UH       0        0      0
ppp0
10.0.0.0          *      255.0.0.0     U        0        0      0
eth1
127.0.0.0         *      255.0.0.0     U        0        0      0
lo

I have my home modem connected to eth1, and my home network on eth0.
I've given eth1 the IP 10.0.0.1 and eth0 192.168.0.1.  If ppp0 is
supposed to connect using eth1, then how come it has a destination of
192.168.1.100 - or don't they have anything to do with each other?

Hope this can help solve my problem.  I'm quite desperate.  I have many
more problems apart from this ;)  Wait - I've got an idea!  How about
one of you guys taking some time off and coming over?  I'm ready to pay
(cash) and a few beers ;) tell me what you think.
