That's indeed the most commong error with *nix -> Win64: pointer casts to
long. (u)intptr_t and ptrdiff_t make that easy enough.

If it's possible, I would like to ask the people of this project for one
favour: remove the awkward /mingw mountpoint, and configure the minwg
compiler via a PATH modification. That's how everything else works IMHO.

I don't know if this is a Cygwin thing or an MSYS thing, but it makes using
two toolchains nigh impossible (autotools cr*p...)
