Nothing prevents from having 2 DB, where the first one is the usual

and the other is much larger and used only in case the first search

expensive operation.
Obviously there are problems of keeping the DBs in synch, but they do

seem impossible to solve, for example deferring the work to a later
time when
the device is idle and connected to a power source.
I thought tracker already supported indexing a e-d-s data store anyway.
It does.
Let me expand on that. We have a plugin for Evolution, so it will index
data about emails by pushing them to Tracker. We do not talk to e-d-s
directly.
