And on this topic.. Anyone else noticing Microsoft o365 does strange
this with Auto Responders?
Eg..
Subject: Automatic reply:
Return-Path: <>
Precedence: bulk
They do have..
auto-submitted: auto-generated
But that is technically wrong as well.. And what is wrong with keeping
to standards, it is not supposed to be all lower case..
X-Auto-Response-Suppress: All

In general I guess auto-replies should not be sent to emails containing
these:
Auto-Submitted: auto-generated
List-Id:
Precedence: bulk
Precedence: junk
X-Auto-Response-Suppress: All
X-Auto-Response-Suppress: OOF
X-Auto-Response-Suppress: AutoReply
Return-Path: <>
I do this:
Auto-Submitted: auto-generated
Precedence: bulk
X-Auto-Response-Suppress: DR,RN,NRN,OOF,AutoReply
List-Unsubscribe: <https://whatever>
List-Unsubscribe-Post: List-Unsubscribe=One-Click
Automatic replies come regardless.
With Return-Path: <> many appliances respond "550 #5.1.0 Rejected by
bounce verification." I think they assume it's a bounce and reject it
because it doesn't match anything they actually sent.
Bonus points for not replying to noreply@ or do-not-reply@?
Thunderbird actually implements this feature by asking if you are sure
when you try to reply.
Best
