You need twice the space to rebuild and it needs to be contiguous. You might have a bunch of old files after a rebuild that could be deleted. Not sure what they are called in OE, but for Entourage 2001: "Old Database Cache", "Old Database", and "Old Messages." In addition, Database (Rebuild) Cache is retained. Note: you might want to save those old files because you can drop the "old" from the name and revert back to those files. Be sure to rename them.
