Mac 9.2, OE 5.06.

Yesterday I tried to open a folder in OE containing about 2,000 emails (a mail Lists I belong to), and the folder wouldn't open, instead, I got a warning saying: "not enough memory to do that task". I have tried to rebuild my database and OE just quits in the process, also giving be a memory error.

When I open OE and select the folder, I get the same warning and/or OE freezes so that I have to reboot.

After I rebuilt OE, the folder "Main Identity" had two files for everything one, but instead of saying Old, it says rebuilt?

It may be coincidental, but ever since I installed OS 9.2, OE has been really sluggish when opening.

Any suggestions on how to proceed other than trash several months mail?
