Hi,

Pascal Garcia (alias spiral), found a very interesting tip for native FilePicker localization.

Version needed is either m225 or m229 Aqua ( m226, m227 wont work )

1) launch OpenOffice.org
2) launch the native File Picker using Apple key + O
3) verify some strings are english instead of your native locale
4) verify OpenOffice.org menu entry is not localized
5) once done quit OpenOffice.org

Now, create (please respect the lower/upper cases in the folder names below) :

Dutch.lproj , English.lproj , French.lproj , German.lproj , Italien.lproj , Japanese.lproj , Spanish.lproj

da.lproj , fi.lproj , ko.lproj , no.lproj , pt.lproj

Once done, redo 1 to 5 tests.

Expected: a confirmation for every major locales , and other:

1) the OpenOffice.org menu entry works
2) the native FilePicker is fully localized

=> verified working for French and German, on both Tiger and coming Leopard

If ever the tip is confirmed working for all major locales ( Dutch.lproj , English.lproj , French.lproj , German.lproj , Italien.lproj , Japanese.lproj , Spanish.lproj ), I propose to create a cws, and create all those folder, to localize the FilePicker and OpenOffice.org menu entry.

Thanks in advance for any feedback concerning othe locales :-)

Eric Bachard
