I've heard that Superdrives are actually Pioneer drives though I personally haven't checked this out. I do know that getting a Pioneer usually means it's fully compatible with Apple. Just in case check out http://www.xlr8yourmac.com. They have a database of all makes and models of drives from hd's to dvd-r's and whether or not they're fully compatible with the Mac. Some drives you'll need to get a hacked driver, others work right out of the box. Toast will work with most drives anyway, but you might not be able to boot from the drive.
