Hi, I just got a Storlogic USB floppy drive ("Candy Technology USB floppy
drive", model # USB-F3501) and it's giving me headaches. The drive is billed
as being compatible with 8.6 or higher.OS X doesn't want to do anything with it (though it sees it in the ASP) and OS 9 & 8.6 (with USB support installed) can't successfully read floppies with it. A disk insertion will be recognised but the Finder will then want to format it. I I let it format, it goes through the process and then says disk is bad when it's verifying. If I let it do a DOS format it'll spend aeons "Updating" the disk. Is this an OS 9/X thing (I haven't used floppy disks since I had OS 8.1 on my Quadra... all computers since have (mercifully) been floppy free)? Or is this the floppy drive?
