Three rants about capitalization:
1. Memory is RAM, for Random Access Memory. It's not Ram or ram.
2. Cycles are abbreviated Hz in honor of Mr. Hertz. KHz, MHz, and GHz are
the correct abbreviations for kilohertz, megahertz, and gigahertz.
3. The computer is a Mac, short for Macintosh. MAC stands for the Machine
Address built into ethernet support circuitry.
4. KB/s == kilobytes per second, Kb/s == kilobits per second (note correct
usage of K[1024] and not k[1000])
5. This is Mac-Canada. It's colour, *NOT* color! (Exceptions are names, like
Color Classic)
6. There, their and they're. Too, to and two. Learn it, live it, love it.
Rob (also a little net-anal)
Now jus' hold onto, or is it "on to", yer sox for a minute! The color of the maple leaf on my flag is still red no matter how you spell it. It's all about communication and sure, using standards is a good thing but it is certainly no guarantee of clarity. It all centers on presenting ideas and information in a timely, and unrestricted/uncensored way.
Quite frankly, I'd much rather someone posted that I'd be better off using the 38kHz setting for my audio dooey-jig thingy so that I could get it working right, than not bothering to post because of concerns that the KULLER PO-LITZ in all their stinking anality, are gonna get him.
Now there's an image I don't want to conjure up too often, but I think your reference to anal is _SO_ appropriate and I also think that all these net-anal folk should go and hide where the sun don't shine.
Lighten up, after all we are tolerant Canadians aren't we?
